The RCCB standard series and RCBO electronic series

Application

The new RCCB superior & standard series and RCBO electronic series,offer effective protection against earth leakages and accidental human contact to earth points.Suitable for installation in construction sites or outdoor distribution boards,where temperatures can go as low as -25� C,they are available from 40A to 100A,in either 2 or 4 poles,and with tripping currents of 0.03A to 0.1A.

Mechanism

The RCCB series is designed to be sensitive to the environment; they are tested to verify their impulse current withstand capability.This consideration makes all the RCCB models to be trip-free,convenient especially during unpredictable thunderstorms,whereby nuisance trippings can be avoided.

Types of RCCB and RCBO

Standard - attractive and compact,it features a "one pole one module" design.Best used with other LK din-rail mounted components.Fits perfectly into any LK Metal_clad Distribution Board (DB).Suitable for industrial,commercial and residential projects.

Electronic - Also known as the Electronic RCBO,it has a "C" type characteristic and available in 2,3 and 4 poles.With snap-on fittings on a 35mm standard din-rail,it is widely used for overload and residual current protection.Also provides protection against electric shock of human from direct and indirect contact live parts.

Theory of operation

The RCCB has three essential components: the current transformers (for fault current detection of all phases),the tripping device (coordinated with mechanical release but functions independently from the line of voltage in case a phase conductor fails or neutralizes) and the isolation device (activated during normal conditions to isolate the contacts of line circuits and the load side).
